Sally Ann Ullman was born and raised in Pennsylvania and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design in 1976 from Kutztown University. She immediately began her career as a professional photographer; first through advertising photography and graphic design, then she moved into photojournalism. Over the last twenty nine years Sally has shot a variety of subjects, ranging from food photography to portraiture. Her ability to combine many techniques and styles has pleased her clients and brought much success. Sally has received the Philadelphia Art Directors Award for excellence in food photography, The Benjamin Franklin Gold Award, and a listing in Who's Who in American Photographers. Sally has been published in countless books, magazines, and advertising promotions. Her clients include Antheneum Books, Rodale Press, Stroh Brewery, National Direct Marketing, Smarthealth, Philadelphia Magazine, and Viking-Penguin Books. Currently, Sally's studio is located on top of South Mountain in Emmaus, PA. It is here on three wooded acres, which clients find relaxing and enjoyable, that she operates a thriving freelance business which includes stock photography, handpainting of black and white photographs, portraiture, and her specialty: food photography. Locally, Sally is a member of the Society of the Arts and the Women's Professional Business Council. She donates her services to many local charities. Sally is married with two children, Tara and Alex, and loves her pet horse, dog, and cats..
